Cruise Industry Leaders Share Their Vision

First Ever Virtual
National Conference

The highlight of our first day of 2020 Vision Virtual National Conference were presentations by cruise line leaders Frank Del Rio, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corporation.

Additionally, David Crooks, SVP of Products and Supplier Relations, WTH had an intimate conversation with Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group.

All three of these leaders appreciated our partnership, friendships, support and loyalty throughout this unprecedented pause in global cruise operations.  They see Travel Advisors as a critical ingredient in the resumption of cruising.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings

"There are big ships, small ships, and even space ships, but the most important ship is the one we are all on, and that is fellowship, friendship, and partnership.".

Frank Del Rio first thanked the travel advisors of our network for their support during this year which hasn't been easy for anyone.

He commented that these past 7 months have given us many learnings and given us chances for innovations.  "Our industry is coming together like never before and quire frankly like no other industry I can think of."

He suggested we need to "keep leveraging our combined resources, knowledge, skills and passion to get the global cruise industry sailing again".  He encouraged us to think about our role as a travel advisor.  In these unprecedented times, everything we are doing contributes not only to our own businesses, but to the whole industry, and even the broader hospitality space.

He remains optimistic about the "soon and safe resumptions of sailings.  It's around the corner, trust me."   He goes on "Via the multi-level approach, that far exceeds the current requirements, the health and safety of our guests will continue to be front and center to the cruise experience."

Together, let's continue to be patient and ready for when we get the green light.  He concludes that the current situation is temporary and he believes "we will come out of this just fine.  It will take some time - not like turning on a light switch." The world has overcome pandemics and other crisis before.  This "should give us hope that we will indeed get through it together."

Carnival Corporation

"There has never been a time when Travel Advisors were more valuable than now, as we look to move out of the pause and begin cruising again."

Arnold Donald began by thanking the agents of our network indicating that we've been critical in helping our clients and their guests navigate this unprecedented pause in cruising.

As we look to move out of the pause and begin cruising again, he advises that we "need to be fully acquainted with health and safety protocols that will be implemented."

He continued that for the time being "every vacation or travel choice will include consideration of health and safety aspects."

So when it comes to choosing a cruise, this "could help distinguish us in the marketplace because there is no other product out there today that has as extensive health and safety protocols -no hotel, no airline, no airbnb, no theme park."

He cited an example: "No resort is requiring 100% universal testing of their guests like we are."

This means that "Now, not only is a cruise the best vacation experience, and the best vacation value, it is also one of the best choices for a safe and healthy vacation."

"I'm very optimistic about the future of cruising and about our teams across Carnival Corporation."

David Crooks, SVP of Product & Supplier Relations, WTH  holds a very intimate conversation with Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group

Royal Caribbean is one of the main cruise industry members, along with NCL Holdings and Carnival Corp., working closely with the CDC to establish the protocols to safely resume cruising.

We are privileged to have an executive of his caliber engage with our travel advisor community year after year.  It speaks to the partnership that we've enjoyed for decades.

Royal Caribbean

"Unlike other travel experiences, we control the environment completely... Our objective is to come up with a set of protocols so that when you are on a cruise ship, you are actually safer than you are if you are in your home town."

"We believe that the Travel Advisor role was critical  and will be even more critical as we are going forward."

David Crooks interviewed Richard Fain in this segment of the General Session.  David commented on how the communications throughout the shutdown have been so realistic and informative, educational, and optimistic.

"You talked about the state of the industry, which was on everyone's mind, but you also educated about the virus, the spread, how to control it, and science of it. Also you were optimistic talking about the advancements being made to help control it."

"Really appreciate you keeping us all educated"

Richard appreciated David saying that and he stated that "Communication in this COVID world is so important and so much more difficult."   He hates that we have to do this conference virtually for example.

He continued, "Those videos helped me a lot, I spent time preparing for them, it gave me a much more feeling of connection with our travel advisors. We are going through a terrible time together and we need to make sure we stay together as we go through it."

The conversation continued around how Richard navigated through this challenging times.  "The industry is going through challenging times but I need to remind myself how lucky we are. There are so many people suffering so badly and that just wears on me."

"Having to work in isolation like this works on everyone. Two things have helped me personally, one is the support of our people, friends and business colleagues, like yourself and other travel advisors, supporting us. People at Royal Caribbean are amazing and their passion hasn't diminished one bit."

He continued "We as an industry have been through tough times before, nothing like this, and the fact that we have more time ahead of us is incredibly frustrating, but the determination, everybody is using their imagination, their focus, to say, yes we are going to get through this and we are going to be prepared as soon as that happens."

He feels lucky to be in this industry because he sees the best in people and he finds it invigorating. "This has been a challenge for us all in the industry; continues to be a challenge. I do point out we are getting near the end of it (not at the end of it).  To see how the innovation, the determination, has held us all together is quite encouraging."

"As you say, we are very social, and it is very frustrating to be isolated like this. But doing something like this, just talking to you, to be together, to talk about it and find solutions... not many people get to do that".

Regarding the spike in the virus that we are seeing right now, Richard stated "The experts have been predicting this surge, at this time, from the very beginning."  He continued, "The surge you are talking about is the surge in the number of cases and we are not seeing is the same surge in fatality rate. Our ability to deal with it does keep improving."   He mentioned that there is a lagging effect and there is an expectation the fatality rate will also go up.

He highlighted some promising signs: "But I'm optimistic that the therapies have been dramatic, the way the doctors have learned to treat it is remarkable, particularly in the older age groups, the more vulnerable.  The testing is coming out very quickly now.  The vaccines are extremely promising."

Remains Optimistic

Richard discussed the mood of the people fluctuates with the current news.  The desire to go cruising will be dependent on the current news.  "The rest of the year is going to be difficult from a COVID point of view, we've been preparing for that, but it doesn't dim my optimism about being able to start, in very small ways, by end of year."

"The end of year is an arbitrary date, what we want to show is tangible forward momentum."

"Overall I feel good, but it's a difficult time and I feel terrible for people suffering during this time.  Saying that we will be back to some "normal" doesn't help someone that is suffering today."

David commented that we do know that people want to cruise and there is a pent up demand.  He questioned whether demand could be greater than capacity.  He was looking for advice on how travel advisors should be selling future cruises.   Light heartedly, Richard indicated "that would be a nice problem to have".   "The way we are expecting this to happen is a slow build up over time."  If demand was greater than they would look at accelerating that process.

He said "I think the world underestimates how much pent up demand there is. From my friends and neighbors, people are ready to go out there. The cruise experience offers the best chance at that...  (since we control the complete environment)."

"If we can meet our goal (of providing the safe environment with our protocols), that will drive more demand."

David highlighted the social bubble they are creating and the investment the industry has made in private islands as being a contributing factor of the safe cruise experience.  He also thinks those that haven't been financially impacted by COVID-19 have also been saving money since they haven't been going out, so that will also contribute to the pent up demand.

"We are not going to start until we know it's the appropriate time to do so, that it's prudent, that we can do it in a safe and healthy manner. But we will also do it a little slowly, so the idea that there's this pent up demand, and it will be hard to get exactly what you want, in the early days could well be a factor."

Vision for 2021 & Beyond

Speaking to his vision for 2021 and beyond, Richard said "Optimistic that when we get going, it will be faster than that (not seeing improvements until 2022).  Yes, we'll see a difficult end of 2020, but with the therapeutics getting better, the testing getting better, the vaccine coming along, I'm quite optimistic.  I don't think I need to look as far as 2022, to get to a more normal time."

 With regards to those that say cruising is going to be different.... "I do think cruising will be different.  Over the years our mantra has been continuous improvement. We always change our product. It will be different now than it was a year ago. It was different a year ago than it was two years ago,   It's gradual changes."

"Things that make the cruise so special. The socialization, going to new places, the ability to provide a level of service in the society that people aren't used to, entertainment, all of those things are going to remain the hallmark of the cruise industry."

"Some of the protocols we are introducing will reduce some of the health issues that were there anyhow.  We will be better prepared in the future."  He feels people will say "The cruise experience was a little bit better than it was a year ago, and a year later it will be better still.  That's the whole concept of continuous improvement.  That's something that our company feels very strongly about.  That's something I see in our future."

Travel Advisor Role

David commented about how supportive Royal Caribbean has been of travel advisors, before and even now throughout the pandemic.  He asked about Richard's vision about the role of the travel advisor going forward.

"We aren't supportive of travel advisor community because we are good people (although we are) but we do so because we believe it is in our best interest.  The travel advisor has always been the one that creates the demand, that pushed people in the way of cruising.  And it becomes more important that the travel advisor explains what's the difference (between brands).  For us, that knowledge is very important."

"In light of the pandemic, that becomes even more important. No normal human learns as much about ships do, what shipping companies do, as travel advisors do.  This is their field, so this is what they do, and they can communicate.  That's what we need.  Knowledge is key to our future."

He went on to say that there's so much misinformation out there. "We need travel advisors to guide people to make them understand what's going on."

Richard concluded by thanking us for partnership for decades and for our support.

Sheehan Makes a Splash

Kevin Sheehan
Steps Down as CEO

Kevin Sheehan, President & CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line resigned from the company.  The announcement was unexpected and comes on the heals of the completion of the acquisition of Prestige Cruises International, which operates two upscale cruise brands, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Frank Del Rio was named by the Board of Directors as the new President and Chief Executive Officer.  He has more than 20 years of cruise industry experience and has served as CEO of Prestige since 2007.

"Frank Del Rio has established himself as a leader and innovator in our industry," said Steve Martinez, member of Norwegian's Board of Directors. "Norwegian is poised for continued growth and we are delighted to have Frank lead our team during the next phase of the company's evolution. We also thank Kevin Sheehan for his service to the company. Kevin has built Norwegian into the highly successful company it is today – a company that has reported 25 consecutive quarters of growth in trailing twelve month Adjusted EBITDA coupled with consistent margin improvement. Most recently, Kevin was integral to the Prestige acquisition, assembling a diversified portfolio of brands that spans all market segments in the cruise industry, which we believe puts the company in a strong position for the future."
I am excited to begin this new chapter in my long career in the cruise industry," said Mr. Del Rio. "I am blessed with a great team at Norwegian, and I am confident that together we can help our company continue to realize great things."

Reaction to Announcement

 "Cautious optimism" might be the best way to describe consumer reaction to the announcement.   The acquisition of Prestige Cruises had caused some concern that there would be changes in the luxury product after the merger.   With Del Rio now at the helm, one would hope that any change would be positive influence on the contemporary part of the portfolio of the combined company.

Some industry watchers had expressed concern about Del Rio's involvement in the defunct Renaissance Cruise Line.   From our perspective, that is old news,  with his successful co-founding of Oceania Cruises serving as proof that there were lessons learned from the past.

Any way you look at it, this is exciting times for Norwegian Cruises and their guests as changes unfold and their young fleet expands with the arrival of Norwegian Escape later in the year.

Strong Wave Season Spurs Price Increases

March is Final Month of Wave Season
Last Chance for Special Deals

Traditionally, the early months of the year are when the majority of cruise travelers book their vacations at sea. The holidays are a faint memory.  The chilly weather gets the mind wandering to warm, sandy beaches, swaying palm trees, and relaxing in the sun.   Before you can say Jack Frost, your dream trip is all arranged and the countdown begins.

Between January and March, the major cruise lines offer incentives for passengers to complete their vacation plans.   This period is known as "Wave Season" in the cruise industry.  Many of the offers have been extended through mid-March and some offers end at the end of the month.   This is the final opportunity to take advantage of the free perks and special cruise fares.

Wave Season Results - Spur Price Increases

Bookings have been strong this Wave Season prompting the first price increase announcement.   Norwegian Cruise Line announced it plans to hike fares by as much as 10% on April 1.  Norwegian Cruise Lines Wave Season Promotion includes free cabin upgrades and on-board credits.

In announcing the fare increase, Norwegian said it would extend its current "Free Upgrades For All" sale through March 31. The offer provides up to a four-category upgrade on select sailings, along with e-coupons for on-board savings of up to $400.

"We've seen exceptional demand spurred by our Wave Season promotion, particularly for the popular summer destinations," CEO Kevin Sheehan says in a statement. "Based on this demand, we will increase our fares on April 1. We wanted to give consumers and travel agents the opportunity to take advantage of these offers before the price increase."

Demand for cruising continues to rise with the Cruise Lines posting strong fourth quarter earnings.  Cruise prices have remained low since the economic down turn in 2008.   The Norwegian Cruise Line increase is the first one announced this year.  We expect the other lines to make similar announcements.

What happens if I missed Wave Season?  Cruise lines will hold plenty of last-minute, three-day or extra-value sales throughout the year for you to find great deals. Unlike the Wave Season sales, you won't have advance notice of them.   To make sure you don't miss out on these deals,  sign up for our eSavers Newsletter and also Like our Facebook Fan Page.   We will notify our subscribers about these special deals as they become available.

Carnival and NCL Skip Mazatlan Calls

Mazatlan Coast - Courtesy Mazatlan Tourism
Carnival Splendor &
Norwegian Star
Skipped Mazatlan

(Last Update:  Feb 28, 2011)

This photo, courtesy of Mazatlan Tourism, paints a beautiful, serene, image of this coastal town.   However, in recent months, violence has caused cruise line executives to carefully weigh making calls in Mazatlan.

We first brought you information about cancellations in January: Cruise Lines Pull Out of Mazatlan  After that, some cruise lines did return to Mazatlan, after being assured by tourism officials that security had been increased,  but continued to monitor the situation.

An incident this week has once again caused two cruise lines to alter their itineraries:

Norwegian Cruise Line cancelled the Norwegian Star’s calls to Mazatlan, Mexico, through April and Carnival Cruise Lines’ Carnival Splendor cancelled its Feb. 24 call.  Carnival is still monitoring the situation before making additional modifications.

According to the Associated Press, two men, who were not tourists, were shot to death in the parking lot of a hotel located in the tourist zone.  There have been reports that passengers on the Norwegian Star heard the shots.

NCL and Carnival Statements

“The safety and security of our guests and crew is our number one priority,” NCL said in a statement. “Therefore, the company has been closely monitoring the situation in Mazatlan, Mexico. Because of recent incidents of violence in Mazatlan, we are cancelling all of Norwegian Star’s calls to Mazatlan for the remainder of the season through the April 30 sailing. Instead, the ship will make two back-to-back calls to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We thank our guests for their understanding.”

Carnival also said it replaced the Mazatlan call with an additional day in Cabo San Lucas. “Carnival is currently gathering information on the incident that occurred [Feb. 22] in Mazatlan,” the line said in a statement. “Until we are able to obtain all of the facts and fully assess the situation, no decision has been made regarding future calls. The safety and security of our guests remains our top priority.”

Updated Feb 28:

Disney Cruise Line - has also cancelled all calls through April, 2011
Carnival Splendor & Carnival Spirit will replace calls with Cabo San Lucas for upcoming week
Some additional weather-related changes were made on dates for call
Holland America Oosterdam - still planning to call there on March 2
Oceania Marina - March 3 call replaced with Puerto Vallarta

We too will continue to monitor this situation and bring you any updates.

Norwegian Epic Christened

Courtesy Norwegian Cruise Line

Reba McEntire
Christening
Norwegian Epic

Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Cruise Line's largest and most innovative Freestyle Cruising ship to date, was officially christened on July 2 by its godmother country music superstar Reba McEntire. The entertainment extravaganza was hosted by comedian and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jeff Garlin and included performances by the ship's world-class entertainers on board, including Blue Man Group; Cirque Dreams™ & Dinner; Legends in Concert performers Madonna, Elvis and Tina Turner; Second City® Comedy Troupe; Howl at the Moon Dueling Pianos; among others.

The hour-long event was simulcast in venues throughout the ship to allow maximum viewing opportunities and culminated with Ms. McEntire cracking the bottle to christen the ship.

The ship, which was docked at Pier 88 at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal, is now sailing on a two-day preview cruise before returning to the pier the morning of July 4th to host the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks® Spectacular.

You'll notice from the photo that Reba wasn't outside and she wasn't holding an actual bottle of champagne. Reba pushed a button on the screen inside and then they cut away to show the bottle being released to hit the ship.

Ship Christening Tradition

Wine poured upon the deck before a long voyage represents a libation to the gods which will bring good luck. "Christening" a ship by breaking a bottle of champagne across her bow at the time of launching arose from this practice.  Read more about Nautical Superstitions & Legends.

Coming Soon

Although we weren't personally able to attend the Norwegian Epic's inaugural events in New York, we did have other representatives onboard from our agency, so we'll bring you more information from those that have sailed on the largest ship in Norwegian's fleet in future posts.    We'll also be hosting our National Conference onboard the Norwegian Epic in October, so we'll have more to report throughout the year.

Cruise Passengers There's a Price on Your Head

Increased Bahamas
Head Tax
Effective Oct. 1st

"It's Better in the Bahamas" is the well-known slogan for the Government of the Bahamas.  It's also going to be more expensive for cruise ships to call there starting October 1, 2010.  When the Government of the Bahamas looked at their 2010-11 budget needs, it was clear that some additional revenue was necessary.   One of the ways they decided to meet their budgetary needs was to increase the so-called "head tax" (air and sea departure tax) from $15 to $20.   The increase for the airlines is effective July 1st and the cruise line increase is effective October 1st.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) makes several calls in the Bahamas each sailing season.   NCL has notified passengers, on sailings on or after October 1st, that they will automatically add $3 per guest (age 6 and above) to all reservations that are currently not paid in full and will resend a confirmation showing the new balance due.

In the event of cruise cancellation, this tax, like any other Government Taxes and Fees (GTF), is fully refundable. Norwegian Cruise Line is required by law to collect this from ALL guests and acts only as an agent of the Bahamian Government in collecting the tax.

In May, 2008, the Bahamian Minister of Tourism estimated that more than $22M in tourism revenue would be generated from the head tax and increased passenger spend in the Bahamas.   He said: "The Bahamas is now in a position to earn between July 2008 and December 2009 some $22 million dollars in terms of passenger spend, with Norwegian Sky generating almost 50 per cent of this amount," said Mr. Grant at a press briefing at the Lucayan Harbour.

NCL isn't the only cruise line serving the Bahamas.   When the increase was announced, Carnival Corporation, who operates three lines (Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, and Princess Cruises) that call in the Bahamas, estimated that the increased tax would generate $9.2M for the government.  Since NCL is only adding $3 per guest, it appears that there was a negotiated deal between the cruise line and the Government of Bahamas since the tax was announced.

In this economy governments are looking for ways to increase their coffers and an increase in head tax is one way to achieve that goal.  This may become the new replacement for fuel surcharges we saw in recent years.  It is just another cost that is being past along to the consumer.

Elsewhere, Royal Caribbean has squared off against Rockland, Maine's City Council who recently voted to increase the head tax fee for large cruise ships from $1 per passenger to $6.  Last fall, Royal Caribbean's 2,504-passenger Jewel of the Seas called in Rockland and is scheduled to call there again this October.

Royal Caribbean is opposed to the fee hike and made the following statement:

"We believe the 600% increase to the passenger fee is excessive and ill-timed given current economic conditions," the cruise line said in a statement. "We are also concerned by the short notice of the increase. Cruise line operators, including Royal Caribbean, plan port calls 24 months in advance and begin selling these cruises to guests 12 to 18 months in advance. We strive to mitigate costs that jeopardize any financial hardships to our guests, but an increase such as this will have a negative impact.

"We feel that the fee increase should be rescinded and tariffs reset to their previous levels," the statement concluded.

Rockland councilmen haven't taken the remarks too kindly, and aren't planning to rescind the fee at this time.  We'll continue to watch this developing story.

So you see, there is a price on your head in the Bahamas and elsewhere.  Even with these added head taxes, a cruise vacation is still a good value.   Even if you were to fly to the Bahamas, you'd still be subject to the increased fee.   I would hope that this wouldn't alter your travel plans, but be aware that there may be changes to your cruise cost to cover the mandatory fees.

SpongeBob Spotted On Norwegian Jewel

Exclusive Family Entertainment
Norwegian Jewel & Epic

I've just received an inside tip that SpongeBob, of Nickelodeon fame, was spotted this month on Norwegian Jewel.  The photo above, from an insider at Norwegian Cruise Line, confirms this.  SpongeBob is seen relaxing in the sun on Norwegian Jewel.   Doesn't he look nice and relaxed?

No SpongeBob isn't on Spring Break.   In fact, starting in April on Norwegian Jewel and this Summer on Norwegian Epic, Nickelodeon and Norwegian Cruise Line have teamed up to create one-of-a-kind family cruise vacations... introducing Nickelodeon at Sea, exclusively on Norwegian Cruise line.

This program was announced in January, 2010... Nickelodeon At Sea

    Norwegian Epic Freestyle Choices

    Norwegian EPIC
    Freestyle Dining

     21 Dining Options - 11 Complimentary

    Norwegian Freestyle Cruising is all about choice.  When Norwegian EPIC debuts this summer, Norwegian Cruise Line will take Freestyle Dining to a new level.   It was announced that the ship will feature an extensive number of complimentary Freestyle dining options - 11 out of 21 total - that are included in the cruise fare. The additional 10 dining options will have a nominal cover charge.

    Our first introduction to Freestyle Dining was on Norwegian Sun's inaugural voyage in September, 2001.   That was the first Norwegian Cruise Line ship that was actually designed for the emerging Freestyle Dining program.     In the decade since, the line continued to evolve the program, adding choices and making the program easier for guests to decide when and what to eat.

    What is Freestyle Dining?   Simply put, it's no set dining times, no assigned tables, a relaxed dress code and more restaurants than days in the week on every ship, so you can enjoy whatever you're hungry for, whenever you're hungry.

    Norwegian Cruise Line expanded the restaurant choices on all ships to include everything from tapas to teppanyaki. Your selection ranged from as many as nine (now 11) fantastic dining options included in your cruise fare to a savory array of specialty restaurants created for those extra-special nights out. What are you hungry for?

    Manhattan Room
    Those that will be free of charge are:

    · Taste, the atrium restaurant serving traditional and contemporary cuisine;
    · Manhattan Room, reminiscent of an elegant supper club complete with music, dancing and entertainment;
    · O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar & Grill, serving American favorites and comfort food, 24 hours;
    · Garden Café, Norwegian's signature action station casual restaurant;
    · Great Outdoors, the pool-side grill;
    · Spice H20, serving Latin and Asian-influenced cuisine in the adults-only complex;
    · Atrium Cafe and Wine Bar;
    · Studio Lounge, serving snacks and light fare;
    · Epic Club, the elegant, exclusive eatery available to Norwegian Epic's Suite and Villa guests;
    · Courtyard Grill, the more casual, outdoor area of the Epic Grill, open for breakfast and lunch; and
    · 24-hour room service.

    “It’s important for our guests to know that Freestyle Cruising on Norwegian Epic will offer the ultimate in freedom and flexibility, especially when it comes to dining,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer. “With that flexibility comes a wide-range of complimentary dining venues and options.”

    In addition, Norwegian also announced the cover charges for Norwegian Epic’s specialty dining and entertainment venues (the choice is up to you - the most expensive is $25 per person unless you get really hungry at one of the al a carte choices).

    Cover charges for Norwegian Epic's specialty dining/entertainment venues:

    · La Cucina, Tuscan-style eatery serving regional Italian specialties, $10 per person;
    · Cirque Dreams & Dinner, two shows nightly including a three-course meal, $15 for general seating/$20 per person for preferred seating;
    · Shanghai’s, Norwegian Epic’s new Chinese restaurant serving a delicious mix of Chinese dishes and noodle bar specialties, $15 per person;
    · Shanghai’s Noodle Bar, a la carte pricing;
    · Wasabi, expansive sushi and sake bar, a la carte pricing;
    · Le Bistro, Norwegian’s elegant bistro serving classic French cuisine with an American flair, $20 per person;
    · Moderno Churrascaria, expansive salad bar and choice of a variety of meats served by tableside passadors, $18 per person;
    Teppanyaki
    · Cagney’s Steakhouse, the line’s signature American steakhouse, $25 per person;
    · Teppanyaki, the largest signature Japanese experiential restaurant at sea, $25 per person; and
    · Pizza delivery, $5, available 24 hours around the ship.

    We are happy to see some of our favorites, like Cagney's Steakhouse and Teppanyaki, and are excited with the new choices such as Cirque Dreams & Dinner.

    "With our specialty restaurants, some guests may choose to dine in one of these venues just once or twice during their cruise to celebrate a special occasion," added Sheehan. "At the same time, others may want to sample a different specialty restaurant each evening to experience a new type of cuisine. That’s the great thing about Freestyle Cruising–the choice is up to our guests to decide how they want to customize their trip.”
