Oslo is the capital and most populated city of Norway. The city is the economic and governmental center of Norway and also a hub of Norwegian trade, banking, industry and shipping.
We disembarked the ship and outside the cruise terminal there was a City Tours bus parked. The cost was $20 for a tour that included several of the popular sights such as Akershus Castle, the Vigeland Sculpture Park and the Viking Ship Musuem. Since it was starting to rain, we decided to take the bus tour. By the time we got to Vigeland, it was pouring and we purchased an umbrella from the gift shop.
Ships dock within easy walking distance of downtown. Our original plans had included purchasing an Oslo Pass and doing the Norwegian Adventure tour on our own. We also planned a walk to the shopping district, City Hall and the Royal Palace .
