low passing several hundred 
miles south of the Hawaiian islands

A new tropical depression formed on Saturday and became a named Tropical Storm, Henriette, 24 hours later. 2013 Eastern Pacific Hurricane Season.  The storm formed off the southwest coast of Mexico.  Henriette is expected to become a hurricane Wednesday but it shouldn't cause any problems for land.
