Virgin Voyages Updated Protcols

Virgin Voyages has updated their vaccination and testing protocols.

Statement

In keeping in line with the rest of the travel industry, we've updated our guidelines to make all voyages open to everyone — including Sailors who are unvaccinated. We will continue to create the safest environment at sea and in our terminal, including implementing top cleaning procedures before, during, and after every voyage. With the onset of these latest developments, we’re excited to welcome more of your Sailors who have been eagerly waiting to Set Sail The Virgin Way. 

What You Need to Know

Vaccination Updates:

• All Sailors (no matter their vaccination status) are welcome on board.
  • Policy updates begin on 09/18/22 for all Valiant Lady voyages.
    
    
    
    
  • Policy updates begin on 09/21/22 for all Scarlet Lady voyages.

Testing Update:

• Unvaccinated Sailors are required to bring a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72-hours, or at the terminal for a fee of $30 on their embarkation date

This is a fast-casual version of your favorite slice joint, but with infinitely more opportunities to order from Virgin Voyages' curated menu of delicious pizzas made from local dough provided by the famed Mister 01 pizza makers based in Wynwood, Miami.

Select from one of the suggested pizzas or choose your own toppings.   Then sit down and relax while you wait for your personal pizza to be delivered.

We highly recommend you have at least one pizza during your cruise.  It is a great place to get some food after coming back from a shore excursion.

Dinner at The Wake

The Wake is Virgin Voyage's answer to the Steak & Seafood dining venue.  Like all their dining selections, there is no extra charge for what would be a specialty restaurant on most other cruise ships.  As with the other dining options, select some starters to share and / or some for yourself.  Be adventurous if you like and try something different.  The steaks were excellent as were the starters and of course, the desserts.

This was one of the best meals of our cruise.  We considered going  back another night, but there weren't any reservations available at a time that worked for us.

Tip:  You can book your dinner selections on their app before you sail.

Private Tour Puerto Plata

We booked a private excursion in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic with our friends. The ship docked around 9 AM and we were cleared to go ashore around 9:30 AM.  We met our guide, Erwin, outside the port gates (since only organized tour buses are allowed in the port area).

Awesome Day!  Approx. 6 hours (10:00 am - 4:00 pm) 

 

     INCLUDED:  Coke, Water & Beer...and, entry into the Fort

 

Rum Factory Tour, Chocolate Factory Tour, Walking Tour around Downtown (Central Park, Umbrella Street, Cigar Shop - rolled own Cigars, Church, etc.), Ride down the Beach & stopped for Pictures, Tour of the Fort - and, more!
