Streamwood Summer Celebration a Success
The three day Streamwood Summer Celebration is now history. This was our 14th year participating in the business expo. It was great being able to meet local residents to talk about their travel dreams. Due to the pandemic, the event was not held the past two years. Since we've been in business, we've only missed one other year and that was because we were on a river cruise during the event.

What Destinations Were Popular ?
The most popular destination was an Alaskan cruise / cruisetour. We always tell people that if you only plan to do one cruise in your lifetime, Alaska should be the destination to choose. The Alaska cruise season is short - May thru September. Even when cruising operations resumed, Alaska cruises weren't possible until arrangements were made to not require a stop in Canada. That meant an even shorter cruise season in 2021. We are happy to say that near-normal cruise operations are underway this year, but the pent up demand is high. Be sure to plan way in advance if Alaska is on your bucket list.
The next most popular destination both on land and sea was the Mediterranean with Greece and Italy taking top honors of countries to visit. Several cruise lines and tour operators that we work with have fabulous tours to these countries. Of course, our favorite way to explore Europe is by cruise ship since you can be in a different country very effortlessly as the ship does all the navigation between ports of call leaving you to simply enjoy the view.
Caribbean getaways to all-inclusive resorts were very popular with destinations like Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Cancun, Mexico having the most interest. Snow birds were looking to get away from the cold Chicago winters by cruise as well.
