Wombats Kangaroos and Wallabies Oh My

Next stop on our Go West Melbourne tour was Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park. Here you can meet a wide range of Australian animals including koalas, wombats, dingoes & many more. You can hand feed kangaroos, wallabies and pademelons.

Before setting out to explore the park, we had a picnic lunch of Australian meat pies which we purchased from the Blue Gum Kiosk just past the entrance. The kiosk offers quick takeaway style food, ice cream, hot and cold drinks. Surrounded by picnic tables, you can find a great spot to enjoy your snacks and drinks.

Next we purchased some food for our furry friends.  I was in heaven hand feeding wallabies in particular.  They are so cute.

Imagine exploring this park on your own, stopping along the way to greet and feed wallabies.  In this first video, I started feeding one wallaby and another one didn't want to be left out, so I then had two of them eating out of my hand.  It was such fun.

In this video, the wallaby takes a break and then resumes feeding.

We spent 1.5 hours exploring the grounds and then purchased some items in their gift shop before getting back in our van to continue our journey.  We highly recommend a visit to this park, either as part of a tour or on your own.   View our Moonlit Sanctuary photo album for more images..
