Journey Through Sea Life Melbourne

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium
SEA LIFE Melbourne
Conservation Core

Our vision is of a world where our oceans are healthy, properly protected and full of diverse life.

We want all visitors to our aquarium to love the oceans and the creatures that live in them as much as we do. By sharing their beauty, we want to inspire you to help us protect them for generations to come.

When we planned our visit to Melbourne, we looked for attractions near our hotel and discovered SEA Life Aquarium.  As lovers of cruising, we have a similar philosophy as they do about conservation.  We want to be assured that future generations will be able to enjoy the sea as much as we have.  In fact, we have been members of our local Shedd Aquarium for over 25 years.  Our membership helps to support their conservation and education programs.

Initially we thought about purchasing advanced tickets online, but since we didn't know exactly when we were would arrive, we decided to just walk over to the aquarium and pay onsite.   It turns out that they had a senior discount there which was slightly less than the advance online purchase.

By now we were hungry, so we had a quick lunch and then started exploring the aquarium.   There are several zones for you to explore.  If you have followed us for awhile, you know my love for penguins.  I'll embed a video we took while we were enjoying the Gentoo and King Penguins.  We've posted several other videos on our YouTube Channel as well.  We hope you enjoy visiting the aquarium virtually.

Hurricane Supplies

If a hurricane strikes, you’re going to need supplies not just to get through the storm but for the potentially lengthy recovery period that could follow. Have enough non-perishable food, water and medicine to last each person in your family a minimum of one week. Electricity and water could be out for at least that long. You’ll need extra cash, a battery-powered radio and flashlights. You’ll also need a portable, crank or solar powered USB charger to charge your cell phone.

You’re going to need supplies not just to get through the storm but for the potentially lengthy and unpleasant aftermath. Have enough non-perishable food, water and medicine to last each person in your family a minimum of three days. Electricity and water could be out for at least that long. You’ll need extra cash, a battery-powered radio and flashlights. You may need a portable crank or solar-powered USB charger for your cell phones. The CDC recommends if you need to go to a public shelter, bring at least two face masks for each person and, if possible, hand sanitizer. (Children under two years old and people having trouble breathing should not wear face coverings).
