Grandstands line the streets of Monte Carlo, Monaco where just two days ago the yearly Formula One Grand Prix race was held.

Driving past the now empty stands, we imagine what it would have been like to be in a F1 race car whizzing past the cheering crowds.  No, we aren't in a race car, but instead are in a motor coach on our way from the pier to Eze, France for a half-day shore excursion during our 12-Night Greek Isles & Mediterranean cruise.

On the day we were in Monaco, the task of cleanup was evident.   In  this photo, a worker is doing just that.

The Grand Prix in Monaco dates back to 1929.   It's racetrack  consists of narrow streets with many elevation changes that make it difficult to pass on.  The tight, twisty, treacherous track is usually host to races full of various incidents, and this year was no exception.  Read more about the race here.
