Help I Want to Get Away

Open for Business

You've been held captive in your home for months now, and you need to get away.   Cruises aren't sailing, so where can you go?

One suggestion I have for you is Cancun.

Health & Safety First

Brennan Quesnele, Vice President of Sales from GOGO Vacations, is shown arriving at Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun.    Not only is this property open for business, but they have implemented all the necessary protocols for a safe and healthy vacation.

The process starts when you arrive at the resort.  A bell captain will spray your hands with sanitizer, check your temperature, and take your luggage for sanitation.  Next you'll sanitize your shows before proceeding to the check-in desk.  At the desk there's a Mask Detecting Thermal Skin Temperature Access Control Camera Panel which will show Green if you are wearing your mask properly and you don't have a temperature.

Nothing Says Vacation Like Flip Flops

He's all checked in and ready to check out his guest suite.  But first,  he gets a pair of flip flops.

When they arrived at his guest suite, the first thing he noticed is that there is a sanitation seal affixed to the door.   This confirms that the room has been sanitized and is ready for occupancy.

Learn more about their Peace of Mind Commitment and the steps they are taking throughout your stay.

Let's Go Inside His Guest Suite

This could be you.  Contact me and I'll check availability and make all the necessary arrangements for you.   Before you know it, you could be relaxing on the beach sipping a Coconut Lime Margarita.

Until then, check out the recipe and make one (or more) at home.

How to Make the Perfect Margarita

Coconut Lime Margarita Recipe

Would you like to make the perfect Coconut Lime Margarita?

If so, grab your glass, along with these 5 ingredients, and follow these ten steps to assemble your very own tasty margarita.

Our friends at GOGO Vacations recently went to Karisma's Margaritaville Island Reserve in Cancun, Mexico and shared this Coconut Lime Margarita recipe with us.   They captured the entire process on video, and we've captured the highlights to share with you.

First of all, they followed all the necessary safety protocols before getting behind the bar to make this margarita for us.   Notice the masks - the resort is open and accepting guests, following new protocols to keep everyone safe and healthy.  We'll talk about that in another post, but first, let's enjoy a drink.

first 5 steps - Coconut Lime Margarita

Tip:  take the fresh lime in your hand and rub it on the counter in circles.  This will soften the lime up and when you slice it in half and squeeze into the glass, you'll get all the juice.

last 5 steps - Coconut Lime Margarita

Next:  Garnish with Lime & Mint Leaf - Enjoy !

How did your Margarita Turn Out ?   Pictures Please !

When you visit Island Reserve, ask for the WTH Coconut Lime Margarita.  It has been named after us, World Travel Holdings.

3 Ingredients to Cruise Resumption

Looking to the Future

What will it take to get cruising restarted in the United States? The following three ingredients are at the core of making cruise resumption possible.

New Protocols

The Healthy Sail Panel, a group of the best minds and leaders in public health, biosecurity, epidemiology, hospitality and maritime operations presented their recommendations to the CDC on behalf of the entire cruise industry.  Their 65-plus-page report includes 74 detailed best practices to protect the public health and safety of guests, crew and the communities where cruise ships call. Recommendations include testing, the use of face coverings, and enhanced sanitation procedures on ships and in terminals.

The CDC has published a framework for return to cruising and the cruise lines are working together with them to finalize the actual requirements to be implemented.

Technology

Existing and new technological innovations will augment health and safety.  Guests will complete health questionnaires and other documents in advance of arrival at the pier making it possible to expedite the embarkation process while maintaining social distancing.  The latest medical testing methods will screen for illness prior to embarkation and during the cruise.  The intent is for passengers to embark healthy and disembark healthy as well.

On board the ship, technology will make it possible for planning which dining venues and entertainment options guests which to choose (based on current availability).  Need to find someone on the ship? An app or other device will give you their location.  These are just a few of the ways technology will play a part.

Travel Advisors

Throughout the cruising shutdown, we have kept in contact with our cruise line partners and helped our guests navigate the waters of cancellations, refunds, future cruise credits, and rebooking options.  The situation has been very fluid, sometimes with things changing daily.   The cruise lines listened to our feedback and made adjustments as needed.

As we return to cruising, we will continue to be your core source of the latest information, provided to us by our travel partners.  We've spent this past week in conference, with all the top cruise and land providers, learning about how they intend to keep passengers, crew, and the public safe and healthy.

This is not the time for you to try to navigate these waters on your own.  Helping our guests make the best decisions for their situation is why we are in this profession.    Cruising is already the best vacation value, but it will be even greater when you combine that with our experience and guidance, along with exclusive offers that we have been given, in recognition of our importance to the resumption of travel.

Looking to the Future ...

There's much more to the story, so be sure to follow us for our continuing posts on this and other important industry topics.
